History

January 2007. Three future founders of SOCHI Heliski: Alexander Mavrin, Vladimir Silinsky and Maxim Anufrikov started to work for the French heliski operator Yak & Yety, Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi.

After that, it were 7 years of practice in different companies and in different mountain systems: the Caucasus, Kamchatka, Siberia, Norway, the Alps, South and North America, Japan, New Zealand, training and passing exams at the Russian School of Mountain Guides.

September 2014. Foundation of the SOCHI Heliski company!!!

January 2015. The beginning of flights in the home region – Krasnaya Polyana.

March 2016. The first SOCHI Heliski group in Kamchatka. The program has become annual.

January 2017. We have started to work in the mountains of Abkhazia – small republic located near to Sochi with a great heliski potential. 

December 2018. The first SOCHI Heliski group in the south of Lake Baikal, Khamar-Daban ridge. The program has become annual.

November 2019. We started our first regular flights in Western Siberia, Kuznetskiy Alatau. Our new base near Mezhdurechensk started to work.

December 2020. Together with Baikal Heliski, we have become a heliski operator on Lake Baikal.

March 2021. The first heliski in the history at the North Baikal. A huge and diverse mountainous area with a great powder skiing in March – April.

Near future. We plan to continue to open new heliski destinations in Russia and the near abroad.
